Privacy Policy

Overview

Stance is designed with your privacy in mind. Your health and fitness data stays on your device and is never sent to any external server. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information.

HealthKit Data

Stance reads Apple Stand Hour data and step count data from HealthKit to display your standing progress and allow manual stand credit claims. This data is processed entirely on your device. Stance does not write health data to HealthKit except when you manually claim a stand credit for an eligible hour. Stance does not sell, share, or transfer your HealthKit data to any third party, and it is never used for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data Storage

Your settings, goals, streak history, badge progress, and notification preferences are stored locally on your device using App Group shared storage. This allows your data to sync between the Stance iPhone app, Apple Watch app, and Home Screen widgets. No data is transmitted off your device.

In-App Purchases

Stance offers optional tip jar purchases to support development. These transactions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Stance does not receive or store any payment information such as credit card numbers or billing addresses.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, Stance schedules local notifications on your device to remind you to stand and to deliver activity summaries. These notifications are generated locally and are not sent through any external push notification service.

Analytics & Tracking

Stance does not include any analytics frameworks, crash reporting tools, or advertising SDKs. We do not track your usage, location, or browsing activity. There are no cookies or tracking pixels.

Data Export & Deletion

You can export your stand hour data at any time from Settings > Your Data > Export My Data. To delete all Stance data, simply delete the app from your device. Since no data is stored externally, deletion is immediate and complete.

Children's Privacy

Stance does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not collect personal data from any user regardless of age.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be included in a future app update. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the change.
